Conference Summary:

We held our annual prophetic conference in Bellingham on September 23 - 27, 2009. As usual, God was awesome! We received some great direction from God. The theme of our conference was, “The Kingdom Is Increasing – Are You Watching?”  Here is a summary of the messages brought by the R.I.M. team.

Ted Hanson started the conference with a message entitled ‘A Time For Princes To Rule”. My Scripture text was Isaiah, Chapter 32. The season we are in is one of the Kingdom increasing and we must be awake to what God is doing in our day. We must take a posture of preparing for, expecting, anticipating, responding to, and acting upon what God is doing in this season. We must:

1.  Change Our Thinking – Change Our Mindset To:

  • Giving, Not Getting
  • Creativity – For the Sake of Others
  • Discovery – For the Sake of Others
  • Inheritance – For the Sake of Others
  • Stewardship – For the Sake of Others
  • Distribution (Joseph) – For the Sake of Others
  • Seizing Every Moment As A Footstep In Destiny –  For the Sake of Others

2.  Enter Into A Time For Making Decisions

  • Reactionary Decisions are Not Kingdom Decisions
  • Purpose Focused Decisions Are Kingdom Decisions
    • Making decisions based upon who we are, not what people deserve
  • Strategies From the Storehouses of Heaven Bring Heavenly Testimonies in the Halls of the Earth

3.  Let The Foundation of All of Your Decisions Be -

  • Your kingdom come Your will be done on earth AS IT IS IN HEAVEN

4. Rule With Justice

  1. Be Generous in Your Thinking – Your Imagination, Your Plans, and Your Strategies
  2. Be Generous in Your Actions
  3. Rise Up – Take Authority
  4. Watch – Be Awake With Expectation of God in His Goodness – See AS IT IS IN HEAVEN
  5. Listen For and To God’s Voice
  6. Be Eager To Satisfy and Please God
  7. Respond To and With God’s Passion and Compassion

We have to live as the generous people of God and give our lives to the people of the world for the testimony of God’s greatness in the generations of men. Jesus is the King who rules in righteousness and we must embrace being the princes (princesses) of the world for the sake of others.

Apostle David Fredriksz brought a challenging word concerning PURPOSE. We must embrace ‘life’ as our friend and not our enemy. It is only when we discover our purpose that we can see ‘life’ as our friend. If we don’t know our purpose we will see death as our friend and we will never truly live. We cannot become productive without first embracing our own purpose. Purpose precedes production. The things we produce in life are meant to advance the lives of others. If we don’t truly live we will rob others of the productive testimonies of our lives.

Our purpose is dependent upon the purpose of others. When we discover our purpose we give purpose to others and when we connect our purpose to that of others we truly discover our own. When we choose to live as people of purpose we will carry the testimony of confidence, perseverance, contentment, and joy. If we are going to live for the increasing kingdom of God, we must discover our purpose in life and live it to the fullest.

Dr. Bob Nichols challenged our reasonable thinking with a mystery. God wants us to quit asking for the things He has already given us. Praying for what we already have been given will only produce vain repetitious prayers. God wants to bring us a breakthrough of revelation and wisdom that pertains to what He has already given to us. This will require a greater intimacy with Him. We should stop praying for what we have been given and simply ask God for a spirit of revelation and wisdom to handle what has been given to us. Just as water attracts water, glory attracts glory. When we start living in the reality of that which God has given we will see the increase of all that He has. We live under an open heaven! God judges us on the basis of what we have access to in Him, not on our past experiences. Holding on to the limitations of our past experiences will only hinder our revelation of the mysteries he has given.

To enter into this new season of revelation and wisdom in regard to what has been given us is going to require us to receive the testimony of the experiences of others. We must be willing to embrace the things we cannot naturally understand. When we embrace mystery we will receive revelation. God’s words to us are Spirit and they can only be embraced by faith.

Pastor John Marsden brought a refreshing encouragement as to the simple love, power, and grace of God in our lives. We must fix our eyes on Jesus. The direction that we look is what we will become. When we heed the things of God and receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit it will bring great hope to our towns and cities. We must be filled with the Holy Spirit and choose to fully embrace living in the flow of the Spirit. There is great joy in the flow of the Spirit. We cannot compromise in experiencing and living in the flow of the Holy Spirit. Simon the sorcerer believed the word of God spoken through Philip and even became a follower of God with Philip, but bitterness in his heart and iniquity bound him from knowing the true flow of God’s life. He thought God’s power was something to purchase and failed to see the promise of an amazing life in Christ.

John continued his theme in a second message that focused on living lives in the joy of the Lord. When we live in the flow of the Spirit we can expect great numbers to be added to the kingdom of God. When people began to turn to the Lord at Antioch, Barnabas came to see the grace of God. He came to see something and he saw the grace of God at work. To see the grace of God you have to have seen God’s grace for yourself. This is how Barnabas, formerly Joseph, became known as Barnabas – the encourager. We must take an example from Barnabas. Barnabas came to the church. We must seek the gathering of one another so that we can exhort and encourage one another. We must not call common our coming together. Like Barnabas, we must be glad to come together and bring encouragement to all. We must not only come together, but we must come just as Barnabas did. We must come to see something. When God looks at our hearts He is predisposed to pleasure, favor, and to care for us. This has to be our heart towards one another. Barnabas also came to the church with purpose of heart.

Our ultimate goal is not to be disciples of Christ. Our ultimate goal is to be sons of God. When we know God as sons we will become people of a merry heart. We need to bring the merriment of Christ to everyplace of the world we live in. Knowing God should release a joy of knowing Him! The flow of our hearts is to be that of a merry heart.

Apostle David Fredriksz brought a second word that tied to his word on PURPOSE. His message pertained to our POTENTIAL. We must not only know our purpose in life, we must also stretch to live to our fullest potential. When we live to our potential we will satisfy our own personal passion and purpose for the sake of others.

There are things that will try to hinder our potential and we must not allow them to. Holding on to our past experiences will hinder our potential. Comparing ourselves to others or to the expectations of the world around us will only bind up our potential. The fear of failure will stifle our full potential.

Our lives are cups of life-giving drink for others. We are to give our fullest potential for the sake of others. We must also know that we need the potential of one another to truly fulfill our own. We must also know that the potential of others is directly linked to our willingness to stretch to our fullest potential. We must go to the next level in our potential for the sake of others. When we don’t stay to the fullest course of our potential we rob the corporate house of God of a gift that has been given to them all.  We must fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith to live our lives as a drink offering for others. When we are true to being who we are we will benefit the lives of others as they are. It is more blessed to give than to receive.

In order to see and receive the increasing kingdom of God, we are going to have to embrace changes in our thinking. We cannot see or experience the kingdom of God in its fullest without entering into a deeper level of relationship with God and one another. Dr. Bob Nichols brought a great message called, “Community 2.0”. In a day when computer system software is continually changing, we have to receive the latest version of the computing software of the kingdom to experience the now move of God’s Spirit. Version 1.0 was good, but it isn’t sufficient for the present time in God.

When we allow God to come into our lives we become connected to God’s Spirit in a profound way and we change. Our change is the result of our faith in Him. The early Church in Acts 2:42-47 received God and no one had needs and no one was alone. They became fully committed to fellowship. They experienced an intimate participation in community life. We must also build a network of relationships that lift us up, encourage us, and cause us to grow. Are deep friendships a high priority for us? We need more than a relationship with God. We need one another!

There are four levels of community life that we must each pursue and know. The first is a box of ‘mentor relationships’. These are men, women, and examples that are wiser than us in an area of life. Who is in our box of relational mentors? There should be many! These are those we need to help us in our relationships, our spiritual growth, and even the practical areas of our lives. Who is speaking into our lives right now? We need to grow in our need for mentors. We need mentor relationships 2.0.

The second box of relationships is that of ‘companions’. These ‘companions’ are a spiritual base that connects us in such a way that we can weather the storms of life. Who are our companions? These are friends that we hang out with. These are people we can speak personally, privately, and regularly with. This is small group 2.O.

The third box of relationship is called ‘running partners’. These are people who are moving in the same direction that we are. They are moving at the same speed that we are spiritually. They understand us and know all about us. We will have to risk everything for these kinds of relationships. This is the deepest level of human relationship and we must be willing to upgrade to system 2.0 in this area of our lives to really see the fullness of God’s kingdom in this season.

The fourth box is the deepest level of relationship. This is the center box and each of the other three boxes of relationship surround this box and are even dependent upon it. No human being can fulfill the need of this box. This is the box of our relationship with God. God has to be the center of our universe. No man or woman belongs there. No other human being can complete us, only God can. This is the level of unfailing love and only God can provide this level of relationship. This kind of ‘unfailing love’ is mentioned forty times in the Scripture and every time it is used it refers to God. Are we ready to upgrade to system 2.0 in our relationship with God?

Apostle Andrew Shearman delivered a word concerning the kingdom being all about the King! The whole point of everything is not the kingdom of God, but rather the King of the Kingdom. All things are summed up in Christ. The kingdom is about loving Jesus and putting on Christ. It is in Christ alone that hope resides. It is in a personal relationship with the Last Adam that all things reside. The focus that keeps us alive is a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God is a believer. God spoke because He believes what He says. He believes everything He has promised and said. He said the earth will be covered with a living, experienced knowledge of the glory of God. God spoke it by His mouth and the kingdom of God is advancing by the tongues of our mouths. We need God’s faith in all things.

The kingdom is increasing in us personally, in the church, and in the world. We were separated from God, separated from one another, and even separated within our selves. Jesus came to make us whole. He began a good work in us and He is bringing it to completion. We must give our lives to one another. If we all gave ourselves to disciple at least three others each year the world would be changed in a short time. Could we believe to pour our lives into ten others? When the message of the church is the church with its buildings, success, and assets there is a wilderness testimony. We must have a kingdom focus and live for the future generations. God’s kingdom is increasing in every area of the earth.

David Fredriksz ministered a word Saturday night on being sons of God. The glory of God is a man fully alive. We need to live our lives to the fullest, but all that we are is for Jesus. We have to come to the realization that we are sons and daughters of God. When we believe we are sons and daughters of God we will act like sons and daughters. To be sons and daughters of God requires us to surrender all to Him. We belong to the heart of God. God's call in our lives is a revolutionary call to fight for the heart of humanity. Following Jesus demands action. We are here to give our lives for something greater than ourselves. We have to rise up and make a difference in this world. Life will not always be nice or comfortable. We must follow God wherever it might take us. We must follow God on His terms, not ours. We want the comfortable plan of God, but His plan for our lives might not always be easy. We need to make a mark in our generation and leave an inheritance for the future generations. We can only do this when we decide to be ourselves and follow Him. We can only do this when we decide to be ourselves and follow Him. When we decide to be ourselves we can pour our lives into others. We must give our lives just as Jesus did. He poured His life out into 12 men and we must follow His example.

Ted Hanson gave a word Sunday morning concerning wilderness living and kingdom ruling. The wilderness is filled with freed slaves who desire to return to slavery. These are people who say things like: “feed me”, “provide for me”, “tell me what to do”, “hold me accountable”, and “it was their fault”. The kingdom is filled with children of God who are responsible inheritors for the namesake of God. The say things like: “let me show you how to reap a harvest”, ”let me show you haw to create employment”, “let me demonstrate a dependence upon God”, “I love you, I will never leave your or forsake you”, “I am responsible, let me show you how to be also”.

Kingdom rule is to live, multiply, advance, and posses the things that God freely gives for the sake of the future of the nations. The journey of wilderness living proved our beliefs by humbling us. It refined our actions by testing us. It purified our imaginations by reveling the truth of our hearts. Wilderness living caused us to be eternal lovers of God that we might manifest God’s love to the world. This process set a foundation for us to rule in the kingdom, but now is the time to rule. God has humbled us, caused us to depend upon Him, broken the power of our human reasoning, and revealed God’s supernatural power in our lives.

Kingdom life is a matter of inheritance, responsibility, and becoming significant in the earth. We must know that we were born as sons of God, we must think as sons of God, and be manifested as sons of God to the world we live in. We must see the inheritance as good and know God wants us to receive it. We must be eagerly willing to take the inheritance. To do this we must take the kingdom by force and give God the glory. In the wilderness God met our needs, in the kingdom we receive the things of God to release His inheritance for the sake of all in need. The kingdom of God is not about being blessed; it is about knowing who God truly is. It is about living for the purpose of the posterity of God’s name. God is looking to give His inheritance to people. Will we be His sons? Will we be his ruling princes and righteous bride? The kingdom is increasing – are we watching?

On our closing night of the conference Andrew Shearman brought a brief exhortation for us to give our all for the sake of the kingdom. We must accept what God has for us and take whatever risks are necessary and pay whatever price is required to take our mountain. Nothing can prevent us from doing what God wants us to do. We have to be willing to risk a lifetime investment of work if necessary to be with Jesus in the now of His kingdom. We must recognize that some of our best blessings came dressed as curses. We must realize that it is the storms of life that actually oxygenate our souls for the harvest seasons of our lives. Now is the time to give Christ everything!

We ended our conference with an awesome celebration in the presence of God. We closed the night in abandoned praise of His holy name! God is good!
